PTTimesheet is an employee timekeeping system for small business. It conforms to DCAA regulations for government contracts but is just as effective for non-government contracts. Employees access PTTimesheet through a web browser. This document will give you a brief introduction of the user interface and some helpful hints to make using it more effective.
Note: Before accessing your company's PTTimesheet login, you will need to install the PTTimesheet digital certificate. Follow the simple instructions here to perform that installation and then return to this page.
| 1 - Go to the PTTimesheet website address provided by your employeer. | ||||
| 2 - The PTTimesheet login page will be displayed. Enter the username and password provided by your PTTimesheet administrator. Click 'OK'. | ||||
3 - For both employee and manager, the page allows you to select the pay period to work with, enter your charges, sign your charges, print your timesheet, change your password, and logoff. The menu page for managers has an area that allows signing off employee timesheets. To enter your own charges, select the desired pay period and click Enter My Charges. You'll see the Charge Page discussed below in step 4. If you are a manger and want to check or sign one of your employee's time sheets, select the desired pay period, select the desired employee, and then click Sign Employee Charges. Managers can not alter employee charges but only view and sign their timesheet. |

|
||||
| 4 - If you selected Enter My Charges, the Charge Page should be displayed similar to the image below left. Only the selected pay period is editable. To begin editing, click on the desired day. The Daily Charge dialog box will be displayed as shown below right. All the job numbers that you are allowed to charge against are displayed in the list. Enter your hours in the right-hand column. The running Total Hours for the day is kept up to date at the bottom of the dialog box. To save your charges for that day, click the Save button. | ||||
|
||||
Note - If the Charge Page (above) doesn't show a calendar in the center of the page
but rather shows only a grey box or an empty box, install the Java v1.5 plug-in installed.
Your browser may not be configured to not automatically
download and install plug-ins. To install
manually, go to the
Sun Java website
and:
|
||||
| 5 - If you want to print your timesheet for a certain pay period for your records or simply to see the entire timesheet in a compact format, click Print My Charges. You will see a display similar to below. Use the browser's print capability (i.e. File > Print) to actually print the page. | ||||

| 6 - DCAA allows a pay period to be signed (and/or modified) by an employee as often as desired until it is co-signed by a manger. At that point, no further changes are possible. To sign your pay period, click the Sign My Charges button on the Menu Page. You will see the familar printable version of your timesheet. Enter your password in the text field and click the Sign button. Again, you can still make changes to that pay period and re-sign it up until the point that your manager co-signs. | ||||
| 7 - If you are a manager and viewing an employee's time sheet, the display will look as shown below. Notice the only action you can perform is to sign the entire time sheet. A manager will not be able to sign a time sheet that has not been signed by the employee. In addition, once both the employee and manager sign, no additional changes are possible by the employee or manager. | ||||
